PRELIMINARY TASK: review

We were asked to work on an interview in class and this was exciting for me as it mean ti got more time learning infant and behind the camera

we first set up the green screen which wasn't too difficult as we just had to pull up to for the screen to stand and we didn't have to particularly place it in a certain place as it was just going to be used as the background of the interview

we then set up the camera with the stands , then I tested the camera to make sure all was well before we went ahead shooting where I found that my sound wasn't working which was very concerning but eventually I realised I had plugged the sound into the wrong .........

we then got the lights out and the first problem we faced was where we wanted the lights didn't have a socket near it so we had to go look for an extension cable so that we could get the lighting just right where we where able to play around with the light exposures where at first the 2 sides of the actors face was lit but the middle had a shadow then I moved it to get it perfect.

I then had the idea of the actor walking in which I had seen in many documentaries and I wanted to incorporate that into my interview , my actor then walked in introduced themselves then I cut there

I then went to change my camera angle before I asked the first question to give the audience another perspective where I quickly realised how hard it would be to be asking questions and operating the camera as there would be some key moments where they have some facial expression or some hand gestures which I would need to zoom in on to get the best shot for my interview

Here is a picture of Mrs M giving us pointers on what to work on and ideas

Photos of me setting up the lights :

(I used mr A as a reference points as Sean wanted to capture these pictures for me )

A Timelapse of the whole process of setting up for the interview :

This is the final set in all its glory with 3 lights to make sure the subject is well lit
we eventually angled the chair in different directions to compensate for the different camera angles

This is me ( the director ) setting up the camera and making sure everything was working so that we didn't have any setbacks when we where ready to start shooting

This is an image of the camera while the interview was going on , as you can see I'm not in shot
