research on Low budget British film companies

the film I would be producing has a low budget so I have decided to take a look at a few low budget film companies based in the uk to see what films they may have produce that I have seen and if


1. Film 4 Productions

Film 4 productions is a British film production company , it is owned and operated by channel four Television corporation. Film 4 has been a part of many low budget films hat have gone on to be a box office success.it has produced many successful films including Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave, Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire and Phyllida Lloyd's The Iron Lady. 


2. Warp Films

Warp Films is an independent film and television production company based in Sheffield & London, UK,It won the award for Best Short Film at the 2003 BAFTA Film Awards for their film My Wrongs, and became the first short film DVD single in the UK market.it has produced many successful films including 71 , This is England e.t.c

Speak-it Films is a British film production company established in 2004 by writer , director and producer team Nick Francis and Marc J.Francis.The company is best known for the award-winning 2006 Sundance hit Black Gold . it has produced many successful films including madam president , A life on hold on hold , when China met Africa e.t.c


Reflection : 

This bit of research helped as i dont have the biggest of budgets and i could see what other small budget film companies where doing and how they were able to become so profitable

RESEARCH: Documentary review : Sports (Air)

  As I want to my final production to be a sports documentary I decided to look at a very recent , very popular high grossing sport documentary . I found the movie Air it is an     American biographical   sports drama film   directed by  Ben Affleck and written  by Alex Convery. The film is based on true events about the origin of   Air Jordan , a basketball shoeline, of which a  Nike  employee seeks to strike a business deal with rookie player  Michael Jordan . It stars  Matt Damon ,  Ben Affleck ,  Jason Bateman ,  Marlon Wayans ,  Chris Messina ,  Chris Tucker  and  Viola Davis .
