Poster analysis (First attempt)

 

The poster entices the audience to watch this film through this well presented poster in many ways , Firstly and the top of the poster there is a man with no pupils in his eyes which can be scary to the viewers and also has wrinkles on his face which tells the reader that this evil is old from a long time ago , secondly the poster has text in the middle of the poster saying “This house looked like an easy target, until they found what was inside “ in a serif font  which draws the reader to beg the question what did they find in the house which will entice the viewer to watch the film and find out , moving on there is a house in the middle which looks very old and run down and no one living has been inside for a while and we can see a big leaf less tree at the back which can connote that it's winter time and theres also a dark mysterious being in the top window which can scare the viewer  , fourthly there are three characters in the middle holding weapons and a bag which links to the previous words telling the reader that they might be going to rob this house, they are all also dressed in all black which adds to the idea as theives dont wear bright colours and want to blend in with the dark.

There are then wordings under the pictures with “from the director of evil dead but in read which draws the reader as it is a brighter color which draws the reader attention saying if you liked evil dead which is a horror film which can tell us this is a horror film and a kind of stamp of authentication from the director Fede Alvarez that this film would be as good as evil dead which was a successful movie with a total earning of $2.7 million and Lastly the title DONT BREATHE in a serif font on white but stained and dark a little . 

REFLECTION : 

The film poster analysis was a good task as this helped me learn that directors and editors don't make mistakes they want it to be there which helps you look at each object and what it connoted it also showed me how the use of color was very important to catch the mood of the movie and that we can get so much of the story just from the poster. Moving forward im going to be particular with the decisions I make i.e lighting , sound e.t.c .
